Appointments are recommended so we can properly plan for your vehicle and the service it needs. Same-day appointments may be available, especially for routine maintenance and smog checks.

Your appointment time is a scheduled vehicle drop-off time, not a guaranteed completion time.  The amount of time needed to service your vehicle depends on the type of service, diagnosis, and our shop schedule.

Same-day service is often available for routine maintenance and some inspections, depending on our schedule.  Diagnostic work, major repairs or repairs requiring special order parts may take longer.

Not necessarily.  Services scheduled after 10:00 AM may extend into the next business day depending on the type of work, parts availability, diagnostic requirements, and shop workload. Smog checks are an exception and may typically be completed the same day.

Our shop is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

We do not provide repair estimates over the phone.  A hands-on inspection is necessary to confirm the condition of the vehicle, identify related concerns, and provide an accurate repair cost. Preparing an accurate estimate requires time, specialized knowledge, and diagnostic procedures performed by our certified technicians. To ensure fairness and accuracy, all estimates are billed as part of our diagnostic and inspection services.

We do not provide estimates for vehicle that have not been inspected at our shop.  Every vehicle and situation is different, and proper inspection helps us provide an accurate recommendation.

We do not provide free repair estimates.  Diagnostic and inspection services involve the time, equipment, and expertise required to properly evaluate your vehicle.  To ensure fairness and accuracy, all estimates are billed as part of our diagnostic and inspection services.

We can perform a professional diagnostic inspection to determine why the Check Engine light is illuminated. Our technicians use appropriate diagnostic equipment and testing procedures to identify the underlying cause rather than simply replacing parts based on a trouble code. 

 Yes. Advanced diagnostics are one of our specialties. We can diagnose many electrical, drivability, starting, charging, communication, and vehicle-computer-related concerns. 

Yes. Not every vehicle problem will trigger a warning light or diagnostic trouble code. We can investigate symptoms such as unusual noises, hard starting, no-start conditions, inoperative windows or door locks, drivability concerns, and other issues. 

Yes. We provide California smog check services for vehicle years 2000 and newer that are not directed to a STAR station.

Yes. Our experience with automotive diagnostics and emissions systems allows us to investigate problems that may cause a vehicle to fail an emissions inspection. 

One of the advantages of being STAR certified is the ability to test and certify Gross Polluters. However, the state requires a dynamometer for tailpipe emissions testing, and these procedures are currently being phased out. Since Eli’s Auto Service was founded in 2025, our focus has been on new and emerging technologies in the automotive industry. For that reason, we have chosen not to pursue STAR certification at this time.

Yes. We can diagnose emissions-related faults and determine what may be causing the Check Engine light or other emissions concerns. 

Our services include routine maintenance, oil changes, brake services, battery and starting/charging system services, transmission services, fluid services, A/C services, fuel system services, inspections, smog checks, advanced diagnostics, emissions-related repairs, and more. 

We service a wide range of domestic, Asian, and European vehicles. If you have a specific vehicle or concern, contact us and we can determine whether we are equipped to service it. 

Yes. We can help maintain your vehicle according to the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule while also considering your vehicle's age, mileage, condition, and driving habits. 

Yes. We provide automotive A/C inspection and service to help diagnose concerns such as insufficient cooling, unusual noises, leaks, or other A/C problems. 

For warranty and insurance reasons, Eli’s Auto Service does not install parts provided by customers. This policy ensures that all parts installed meet our quality standards and are backed by the manufacturer’s warranty, as well as our own workmanship guarantee. Using customer-supplied parts may compromise safety, reliability, and liability coverage, which is why we only install parts sourced through our facility.

Warranty coverage depends on the specific repair, parts used, and applicable warranty terms. We will explain applicable warranty information when your repair is authorized. 

You are always welcome to make your own decision regarding recommended repairs. We will explain our findings and recommendations so you can make an informed decision about your vehicle. 

Our technicians have professional automotive training and experience, including ASE certification where applicable.

ASE certification is a nationally recognized credential that demonstrates a technician's knowledge and commitment to professional automotive service.
